On this web page can you see Several Canadian Soldiers (and one Dutch Soldier) the give their lives for the people of Groesbeek. The most of this soldiers where very young when the died. I hope with this page that I and all the people of Groesbeek each year on the 4 of may this soldiers to continue remind. As you have certain wish that you have, or maybe can remember that you have in your  family have a soldier the lay on this cemetery let it me know. The Dutchman Albert de Jong was born on 15 October 1914. He died on 14-06-1945. The died of this hero where very tragic, he came for living by a car accident in the Dutch town Apeldoorn. John Lafferty was born on Prince Edward Island, Canada. He married Helen Catherine Lafferty and moved to from St. John, New Brunswick. He was a bricklayer before he joined the North Shore N.B. regiment in March 1943. A month later he was sent to England.At some point he became an engineer/sapper with the Royal Regiment of Canada. He saw combat with the Regiment in Belgium and The Netherlands and was killed in The Netherlands while clearing mines in the Cuijk/Mook area. For more information of John Lafferty can you Click on this link. British Victoria Cross War Medal Recipient. Cosens served as a Sergeant in the Queen's Own Rifles of Canada. Gordon Rosebrugh (Gord) Holder, a farm boy, was born in the Ontario village of St. George on 31 January 1921, the only son of Thomas and Alice (Rosebrugh) Holder. He dead  on 19 february 1945.
